The Best Makeup From SEPHORA | Best of Beauty 2020

It’s the most wonderful time of the year! Yearly roundups are some of my FAVORITE things to watch and read from others. I’m obsessed with getting to know what products and brands people are loving and what they’d recommend to pick up. Working at Sephora, especially in Merchandising, I’m blessed because of my job getting to constantly test and try out products. Because I have SO many favorites I want to share with you all, I’ll be breaking them down into a few different categories. Let’s start with makeup; here are my Sephora makeup favorites!

PRIMER | FOUNDATION | CONCEALER

YSL Touche Eclat Blur Face Primer [shade ‘Blur Primer Gold’] || This primer is so good, yes it’s pricey. I’ve been using this for a few years now and I always seem to come back to it. When you first apply it feels like your makeup will slide around but I promise you, it’s not going to go anywhere! It’s perfectly blurring that really helps smooth out my skin and erase my imperfections. They now offer this with a silver tint but the gold helps brighten and illuminate + this product is just aesthetic goals. 

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer || Another pricey primer but this is also smoothing perfection. If you struggle with deep pores and truly want something that will blur and make your skin feel like velvet, I’d recommend this one! I do like to layer this with others as I don’t find this to keep my makeup on for much longer than usual but it’s the velvety balm texture that I just adore under my foundation. 

Armani Beauty Luminous Silk Perfect Glow Flawless Oil-Free Foundation [shade ‘5’] || If you were to tell me 5 years ago I’d LOVE this foundation, I would’ve thought you were crazy. I never thought this would work for me and my combo/oily skin but this is one of my all time favorite foundations for a natural and glowy base. When I wear this, I always get compliments and I promise, if you have oily skin, don’t knock it until you try it! Your skin will love you, this product looks good on SO many people. 

Too Faced Born This Way Foundation [shade ‘Warm Nude’] || Another great foundation if you are looking for something that’s more natural but doesn’t compensate on lost coverage. This has almost a satin finish and medium coverage. This one is a little more heavy feeling on the skin versus Luminous Silk but I also get so many compliments when I wear this. One of my go-to’s when I know I’ll be on camera or taking photos! 

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Longwear Foundation [shade ‘3 Neutral’] || For all my full coverage queens and long lasting lovers out there, look no further than the Airbrush Flawless Foundation. I only use about half a pump for my entire face and neck and the coverage still is INSANE. A little goes a long way yet your skin will still look natural. Out of the 3 foundations mentioned, this definitely is the most ‘matte’ but still gives the skin a slight radiance giving an ethereal look that so many of us are obsessed with. I like to apply with this brush for the most natural yet full coverage finish.

Armani Beauty Power Fabric Concealer [shade ‘3’] || Ok ok I don’t know why I’ve never heard anyone talk about this but this is definitely a hidden gem in the concealer world. Blends out in LITERALLY seconds, gives amazing coverage, leaves the skin hydrated and has a second-skin matte finish. If you find most full coverage concealers to be too drying, give this one a try! 

Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Concealer [shade ‘Almond’] || I’ve gotten so many people to fall in love with this. I used to use Tarte Shape Tape and after a while, I found it to be way too drying but I didn’t want to compromise the coverage. Then this baby launched and it was game over. SUPER coverage that could literally cover anything while still being hydrating enough for me. The tube is huge so it will last you a long time but I’ll continue to purchase I love it so much! 

POWDER | SETTING SPRAY

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Finish Setting Powder [shade ‘1 Fair & 2 Medium’] || The name of this powder says it all. It really does give the skin an airbrush like flawless finish. The powder is so finely milled it just melts into the skin. I like to use shade 1 Fair for underneath my eyes to set my concealer and then use 2 Medium for a light dusting all over. There’s a reason why so many people rave about this, worth the splurge! 

MAKE UP FOR EVER Matte Velvet Skin Blurring Powder Foundation [shade ‘Y225 Marble’] || I’ve never been into using a powder foundation until I tried this one from MUFE. One of the best that really delivers on high coverage and a gorgeous smooth finish to the skin. If I’m in a rush I’ll just use this by itself but for a super glam full coverage look, set your foundation with this; your pores will disappear and your face will look AMAZING.

Too Faced Peach Perfect Mattifying Setting Powder [shade ‘Translucent Peach’] || Another ‘blurring’ product, are you starting to sense a theme here? I love the look of flawless yet natural skin. The scent for this powder is a little overwhelming tbh but I’m able to look past it because the end result after applying is INSANE. Again, there must be some sort of magic with this formula since this product also instantly erases pores when applied with a big fluffy brush, I love this one. Depending on the foundation I’m wearing that day, I’ll either use this to set my entire face or dust a light layer in my t-zone to keep my oils under control for the day. 

Hourglass Veil™ Translucent Setting Powder || Hourglass, one of my all time favorite brands, always makes gorgeous products but really known for their powders. Their pressed ambient lighting powders I’ve been using for years but switched over entirely once this product came out. Because this has a radiant finish with light-reflecting particles, I use this with a slightly more dense but still large fluffy brush as my ‘buffing’ powder after I apply ALL my powder products. This powder really helps marry all of my powders together making it look more natural & effortlessly smoothes the skin.

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Flawless Setting Spray || This is a newer favorite for me but I just HAD to include it in this roundup for 2020. If you have trouble with your makeup breaking up a few hours after you apply or your blush/highlight disappear by the end of the day, TRY THIS. It’s literally magic in a bottle. With my oily skin, I typically become a grease ball at the end of the day and with this setting powder, my makeup 12 hours later looks the exact same as when I applied it first thing in the morning. Long story short, BUY THIS NOW.

BLUSH | BRONZER | HIGHLIGHTER

NARS Blush [shade ‘Orgasm X’] || NARS Orgasm is such a classic & cult favorite product in the beauty industry but when Orgasm X came out earlier this year, I knew it could easily be the new go-to shade. It’s much brighter and can honestly look a little intimidating in the pan but applied super light handed with this brush it creates a gorgeous wash of color on the cheeks. If you like the look of slightly ‘sunburnt’ cheeks, this is the PERFECT coral blush. 

Charlotte Tilbury Cheek To Chic Blush [shade ‘Ecstasy’] || Another favorite product of mine from Charlotte Tilbury are her blushes. I have a few different colors but my favorite out of the bunch is this one! The perfect peachy pink with a slight sheen to brighten and illuminate the cheeks. Lasts really well on me and it’s such a universal shade! 

Charlotte Tilbury Airbrush Matte Bronzer [shade ‘Tan’] || Relatively new to my collection as this launched a few months back but #obsessed. First of all, the compact is HUGE and just like her pressed powder, the formula on this is so buttery and smooth. I’ve never had a bronzer look so natural and blended into the skin without even having to try. I do wish there were a few more shades as I’m really in between Medium and Tan and did go with the darker, I just have to use the smallest amount for a gorgeous warm look to the skin. + it’s sustainable as you can purchase the individual pans when you need to repurchase (love that!)

Hourglass Ambient® Lighting Bronzer [shade ‘Radiant Bronze Light’] || This is such a tried and true favorite for me. If you’ve ever watched any of my yearly favorites on YouTube over the years, I’ve always mentioned this. If you love a more radiant and glowy bronzer, this is definitely one to check out. It looks stunning layered on top of a matte bronzer or contour just to bring a little warmth and shimmer to the cheeks without being over the top. 

Charlotte Tilbury Hollywood Flawless Filter [shade ‘2 Light’] || I’ve always used to stray away from liquid highlighters but I love CT products so much I wanted to give this one a try. The thing I love about this the most is it’s versatility. You can wear it on it’s own for a natural glow, underneath or mixed into your foundation, or blended into the high points of your face for that supermodel glow. This highlighter is incredibly natural and can be built up but it will give you a gorgeous radiance! 

Dior BACKSTAGE Glow Face Palette [shade ‘002 Glitz’] || If I had to only wear one highlighter for the rest of my life it would be this one. I’m OBSESSED with the glow and radiance this gives to my cheeks. It’s the perfect balance of metallic and every so slightly shimmery yet it melts into the skin and looks super natural in all the best ways possible. They just released a few more shades but Glitz is my all time favorite as I can wear it with ANY look. Definitely will be something I wear on my wedding day!

EYESHADOW | LINER | MASCARA | LASHES | BROWS

Too Faced Born This Way The Natural Nudes Eyeshadow Palette || Did not think I was going to love this palette as much as I do! Both the mattes and shimmers are super pigmented and blend SO easily whether you’re a newbie or a pro. You also might be thinking…another neutral palette? Well yes, but I promise you this one has such a great balance of neutral, rosy and warm tones that would work for everyone!

Natasha Denona Biba All Neutral Eyeshadow Palette || Oh man where do I start with this palette. It is GOOOOOOD. Yes, a definite investment for an eyeshadow palette, but this is one of the easiest palettes to work with because her formula is so buttery and blends effortlessly. If you’re new to wearing eyeshadow, I always recommend her little 5 pan mini palettes to try and fall in love. The Biba palette is another neutral but so unique with the undertones of the shades she has included. The shimmers are also so beautiful without having to wet your brush or prime your eye, go on ultra metallic and with high shine in one swipe! 

SEPHORA COLLECTION Colorful Wink-It Felt Tip Liquid Eyeliner – Waterproof [shade ’02 Cup a Joe’] || I’ve been searching high and low for the perfect felt tip waterproof brown liner. Little did I know Sephora Collection makes one of the best and in the most perfect shade of brown. The felt tip is easy to work with and makes it so effortless to create the perfect flick. Again, the shade of brown is like a deep, mushroom brown. In some lighting it can look black which I love and once in the light, you’ll see the gorgeous hint of natural brown. It’s PERFECTION for those looking for something a little more natural when wanting to wear a liquid liner. 

SEPHORA COLLECTION Retractable Waterproof Eyeliner [shade ’08 Brown’] || Looking for a good waterproof eyeliner? Look no further than Sephora Collection! I feel like this line is another hidden gem. So many shades to choose from and one of the only eyeliners that doesn’t irritate my eye. I use this so many ways too, in my tightline/waterline, smudged under my lower lash line or buffed out as a smokey liner. So versatile and doesn’t come off until you’re ready to take off your makeup.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Volumizing Mascara || I’m normally not one to go out and buy expensive and prestige mascaras as I do have a lot of drugstore favorites, which I’ll be sharing soon, but if I do want my lashes to look long, voluminous, full and separated, BTS is my go-to. The wand has a unique hourglass shape that really helps get to the root of the lashes in the middle while getting the hard to reach areas in the inner corners and outer corners. It’s extremely black + it doesn’t flake on me! 

Velour Lashes Fluff’n Glam Collection – Glamour Volume Mink Lashes [style ‘Fluff Ya’] || Most of my go-to lashes are drugstore as well since they have so many good ones at an affordable price but when I want to go extra glam and make a statement, these are the ones I reach for. They’re super fluffy and look like eyelash extensions without the hefty price tag $$$. What I also love about these is the band. Extremely comfortable for a lash with so much density and volume, it feels like you’re not wearing lashes which I love! 

Benefit Cosmetics Precisely, My Brow Pencil Waterproof Eyebrow Definer [shade ‘3.5’] || I’ve been using this brow pencil for years and I’m always obsessed with how my brows turn out when I use it. Unlike some other brow pencils on the market, this isn’t too waxy or too soft and packs the perfect amount of pigment where it looks like natural brow hairs. Love that it comes with a spoolie to easily brush through and create a feathery look! 

LIP LINER | LIPSTICK | LIP GLOSS

PATRICK TA Monochrome Moment – Precision Lip Crayon [shade ‘She’s Proud’] || I love Patrick Ta and the vibe he has with all of his makeup looks. When minimal and effortless meet glowy glam, he is the icon for all sultry and trendsetting looks. This lip liner goes on so smoothly and lasts really well on the lips and in particular, She’s Proud, gives my lips the perfect pillowy contoured. Perfection! 

Charlotte Tilbury Lip Cheat Lip Liner [shade ‘Iconic Nude’] || So so many people love this lip liner. It’s long lasting, super smooth & glides on the lips like butter and the color Iconic Nude is, well, iconic. No lie, this nude looks good on a wide range of skin tones and with so many lip colors that makes it incredibly easy to pair it with something you already have in your collection.

Charlotte Tilbury Hot Lips Lipstick [shade ‘Kim K.W’] || This will definitely not be for everyone as it’s a pretty pale nudey pink but it is my PERFECT light nude lipstick. I always get so many compliments when I wear this. I’ve gone through a few tubes of this over the years and will always repurchase. The formula and shade offerings are so good!

FENTY BEAUTY by Rihanna Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer [shade ‘$weetmouth’] || One of Fenty’s most iconic products in my FAVORITE shade of pink. This color looks good on top of ANY nude lip liner or lipstick and makes your lips looks so plump and healthy. The formula on all of her Gloss Bombs are so smooth, not tacky or sticky and for a gloss, relatively long lasting. I love this gloss so much I keep one at home in my vanity and have another in my bag/touch up kit so it’s always with me. 

PAT McGRATH LABS LUST: Lip Gloss [shade ‘Love Potion’] || Pat has one of the best gloss formulas on the market in my opinion. Slightly thicker than the Gloss Bomb, the opaqueness of Love Potion is one of the prettiest nude glosses that I have in my collection (& that’s saying a lot since I own a TONNNN of lip glosses). The applicator is slightly pointed so it hugs the curves of your lips and applies the perfect amount. She offers such a wide range of shades as well so you’re bound to find one you’ll fall in love with!
